DESIGN CRITERIA:

Atelier 55 is a challenging retail project in Galata, one of the most historical areas of İstanbul, transforming a very old Turkish style coffee place into a concept store within a coffee shop inside. Starting point of the design process had been aimed to reflect the general spirit of this neighborhood as much as possible through the space.

The coffee corner which was planned to be available at all times inside this store played a major role during the process of the design.

Atelier 55 concept store embodies modern simplicity in its design concept, while having subtle details that captures the elegance and romantic spirit of the store. Materials on the existing building influenced and supported the design with its colour, texture and more significantly with its unique living spirit.
