DESIGN CRITERIA:

It is an architectural transformation project for a pent house section of a 2-story house. The starting point of the design was directed by these 3 words; ‘comfort, function and living’.

It goes without saying that the most crucial and the most time-consuming part was to determine the technique on how to include outer terrace space into interior space. Planning the custom made iron construction profilles within the space affected the design period. JK Mimarlık intended to keep the space as much spacious as possible by having a big open space. Only one part of the living room’s ceiling was constructed by the transparent glass. Instead of the old claustrophobic mood, winter garden atmosphere was created.

You can come across the use of some natural materials like timber, stone and wool carpet coverings inside this space. By not belonging or following any certain architectural period, this pent house space shows us how to reach for a ‘ timeless space’ .
