DESIGN CRITERIA:

Kandilli Mansion, a highly special residence, is located at the magnificent hills of Kandilli with one of the most breathtaking views of Bosphorus. The mansion is also a historical monument in terms of its architecture and position.

Traditional wood construction mansion has 4 stories with over 1000 m2 of living space where each floor has been developed with their unique characteristics and differences from each other by following the original taste of historic Turkish mansion design principles. Conserving the exterior facade had been the primary focus and simple and harmless methods were developed in order to improve its appearence in the most charming ways. Having over 3 meters high ceilings created great opportunities for custom made wood panelling application of the interior walls by showcasing the extraordinary details of the wood work in a spectacular way.

One of the other characteristics of Kandilli Mansion is the amount of terraces surrounding the building. A vast roof top and multiple terraces on each floor with unique views enable this building to embrace the beautiful Bosphorus unlike any other in Istanbul. Kandilli Mansion’s extraordinary location and century-long existence with its glorious exterior and interior structures, one can get fascinated with its architecture in many different ways.
